This autumn-themed phonics booklet is aimed at EYFS or year 1 (4-6 yrs). It covers phase 3 sounds and would be perfect for revising the phase during the autumn term. The booklet is 18 pages. Children could work on it independently during phonics lessons, as a start of day activity or as a filler. Alternatively, send home for parents to work on with children as a homework task. This is a bundle of comprehensions for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They are aimed at Year 2. The bundle contains two sets of booklets. There is one set of comprehensions about the celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which cover what a Platinum Jubilee is, how the Queen and others are celebrating, ways that children can get involved and green projects. The second set of comprehensions cover 70 years of British history and the history of the Queen’s reign. There is a section on each decade. There are three differentiated booklets for each topic. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘where,’ ‘who, ’ ‘which’ and ‘when’ questions and some multiple choice tick questions. Each activity contains a title page with useful words followed by four pages with short written extracts to read and 3-4 questions per page. The higher ability booklets have 14 questions and the middle and lower ability booklets each have 12 questions. Answers are also included. All of the PDF booklets are in the zip files. There is a colour and black & white version for each level. Perfect for using around the Platinum Jubilee celebrations or for a topic on Queen Elizabeth II or the history of Britain. This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water for KS1. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint and pencil, using shapes, patterns and lines and experimenting with different materials. There are 3 different artists used as inspiration, all of whom have painted the sea or water using very different techniques. The children have the opportunity to work alone for 4 lessons and part of a collaborative group project for the final lesson. They have lots of opportunity to choose what materials they work with. The 15 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my classes. I have included the simple 7 slide PowerPoint I used for the series of lessons, which contains examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based. I hope you enjoy the lessons! They are great fun!

This resource is a set of 5 painting lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water, suitable for Lower Key Stage 2. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades and using shapes and patterns to change the atmosphere of a painting. There are 4 different artists used as inspiration. The children have the opportunity to work alone to practise the key skills and as part of a large group for a collaborative project. The final lesson allows children to collate all their experience and ideas to create an original seascape on their own. The 13 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out the cupboards. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my classes. I have included the simple 8 slide PowerPoint I used for the series of lessons, which contains examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based. There is also a template for Lesson 3. This resource is a scheme of work for a 7 week history unit aimed at Key Stage 2. The theme for the unit is women's rights, with a focus on Elizabeth Garrett-Anderson, the first female doctor and Emmeline Pankhurst, the suffragette. The scheme includes an introduction, curriculum aims, a unit overview and 7 detailed lesson plans. Each plan has an objective, lesson introduction, main activity and plenary. There are also details about possible differentiation, questions for assessment and key vocabulary for each lesson. Also included are 3 PowerPoint presentations on women's history pre-20th century, Elizabeth Garrett-Anderson and Emmeline Pankhurst. The unit could be used at any time in Key Stage 2 in order to cover the curriculum aim of studying a British theme post 1066.

An enjoyable five day poetry unit to use with KS1 during the summer term. During the unit, children have the opportunity to read, study and learn two poems; one about water and one about the beach. They take a seasonal walk on day 3, in which they gather vocabulary, before spending two days writing their own poetry. All activities are engaging and interactive and allow children to work as a whole class, in groups, pairs and individually. As well as gaining experience of poetry, they also spend time learning about verbs. Everything you need to teach the unit is included in the price. This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of India for KS1. The key skills that are taught include collaborative art skills, simple sculpture and using paint and other materials to create pictures and crafts. The children work together creating a city skyline, before moving on to making elephants, diva lamps, rangoli patterns and fireworks pictures during the unit. The plans are very detailed and include templates, simple powerpoints and website links. There are details of curriculum links and lists of any art resources you will need to set out before the class starts. I have also included photos of the completed art projects from when I used this plan with my year 1 class. These plans are tried and tested with my own class. We had fantastic fun! I hope you do too!
